ruineshumaines:

Illuminated ornaments selected from manuscripts of the Middle Ages, drawn and engraved by Henry Shaw, with descriptions by Sir Frederic Madden. London, William Pickering, 1833.
Material: Old book

Between Folds / Illuminated Ornaments has been created using a beautiful and rare book on medieval illuminated work. The fine, hand-coloured, etched or lithographed plates have been put together in a way that accentuates their vivid colours and diversity, and the work includes decorated initials, borders (marginalia) and miniature illustrations. The piece reflects the illuminated style of the book and is dominated by an ornamented capital ‘I’. © Francisca Prieto.
